Have you had an Endoscopic procedure such as a Colonoscopy, EGD or Cystoscopy?
If so, then you have benefited from one of the most remarkable medical technologies available to doctors today. The ability to diagnose and treat significant illnesses located in the upper digestive tract, colon or lower urinary tract with minimum invasiveness has revolutionized healthcare. There was a time when digestive and urinary tract disorders could only be diagnosed after the patient past the point of successful treatment. But the development of Endoscopic procedures has given health care professionals a powerful tool and changed the focus from treatment to prevention.
East Mississippi Endoscopic Center (EMEC) is dedicated to providing our patients with high quality care performed by attentive doctors and nurses who focus on patient needs as much as the procedures. You see, we understand the reaction many people have to the idea of Endoscopic procedures. It is perfectly normal to feel awkward or vulnerable. That's why we believe it is so important to have a friendly, caring group of doctors and staff like we have at EMEC. Our patients' health is paramount to us, but so is their dignity and privacy.
Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the Western World. 655,000 people worldwide die from this disease each year. Many of these deaths could be prevented with regular colon screenings and the removal of polyps. Most cases occur in between the ages of 50 and 70 while cases before the age of 50 are common if there is a family history of early colon cancer. Therefore, regular screenings after the age of 50 are an important tool to save lives.
EMEC is located in Meridian, Mississippi and we are the only free standing Endoscopy Ambulatory Surgical Center in the area. Our facilities are modern and spacious with a pleasant atmosphere. But most importantly, EMEC is staffed by people who care, people who listen, people who understand.
EMEC Center provides Open Colonoscopy services so anyone can schedule a screening without being referred by their doctor. Contact us today to learn more about the life-saving procedures we offer and to schedule your screening. We are ready when you are.
EMEC is a state-of-art facility which offers screening, diagnostic and therapeautic endoscopic procedures. Our physicians are able to visualize the gastrointestinal or urinary tracts in order to detect abnormalities such as ulcers, hiatal hernias, esophageal strictures, colon cancer, stomach cancer, or bladder cancer.
